Please note this is an intimate al fresco affair at Bingie Pottery. Tickets are limited. Rounding out the band will be George Greenhill on drums and Nick Jansen on double bass. They'll be playing original songs of Hamilton's and Walder's, with a few standards in the mix. We hope to see you there! Warwick Alder: Trumpeter Warwick Alder is known for working with many illustrious artists over his long career, and he is notably a long-term associate of legendary saxophonist Bernie McGann's highly praised quartet. His beautiful sound and style, his feeling for the characteristics of the instrument and his effortless flow of ideas in any idiom have made him the trumpeter of choice for many artists and many styles, from the traditional to the avant-garde. Alder was a founding member of James Morrison’s first band; Morrison Bros. Big Band, as well as Australia’s leading modern jazz ensemble; Ten Part Invention. He has been a lecturer at the Sydney Conservatorium since time immemorial, and continues to inspire audiences with his unique approach to the music. Lachy Hamilton: Australian saxophonist Lachy Hamilton is fast becoming a leading voice in the Australian Improvised and Contemporary Music scene. Having learnt from James Morrison and Don Burrows from an early age, he was identified as one of SIMA’s (Sydney Improvised Music Association) 2021 Sonic Futures artists, and is described as "an exemplary musician with attributes and musical wisdom beyond his years'' - Jeff Clayton. 2022 saw the release of Hamilton’s latest album JAHL HESHI, a collaborative project with pianist Harry Sutherland. “JAHL HESHI represents all that is cutting edge in Australian contemporized jazz…they are the future of Jazz today” - Barry O’Sullivan.
