Bingie Residents Association                                    About Us

We welcome those living in, or connected with, Bingie and its surrounding areas.
We are a small group in the Bingie area working to build community, keep people informed, organise community activities and look after our area. By joining us you can:
* Get to know your local community 
* Get support to work on local issues and services you care about
* Help protect and enhance the natural beauty and wildlife of Bingie
* Learn more about this area
* Use our email, Facebook group and website to stay informed and connected

We negotiate with Council and relevant state authorities and agencies about services and development proposals.
We run working bees and workshops on wildlife, weed control, fire safety, local geology etc.
We coordinate weeding, planting, wildlife sighting and monitoring, and get funding support to run projects in these areas.
We have a community gathering at least once a year at Christmas (the Bingie Bash) and meet at other times for workshops etc.
We are community group run by volunteers, if you'd like to contribute let us know.

As an incorporated association so we have an Annual General Meeting and an elected committee to organise our activities. Our committee meets regularly through the year.
Aims and objectives of Bingie Residents Association Inc
  • To promote a sense of community and social cohesion amongst Bingie residents.
  • To provide a means for Bingie residents to meet and discuss and make decisions regarding matters of common interest.
  • To take an active interest in and be involved in, and to encourage the taking by Bingie residents of an active interest in and being involved in, all matters concerning the Bingie area including
* the preservation of the existing semi-rural nature and scenic character of the Bingie area;
​* the impact of any proposed development in the Bingie area and, in particular, its impact on the existing semi-rural nature of the Bingie area;​
​* the effect on the semi-rural nature of the Bingie area of the provision of or the upgrading of services such as water, sewerage, power and roads.
* the affect on the area of any action or proposed action of any public or private authority or corporation under its powers or in pursuance of its duties whether statutory or otherwise.​
* the operation or possible operation in relation to the Bingie area of any by-law, regulation, rule, ordinance or the like promulgated under or in pursuance of any Act of Parliament.​
* the effect of tourism on the semi-rural nature of the Bingie area.
  • the operation or possible operation in relation to the Bingie area of any by-law, regulation, rule, ordinance or the like promulgated under or in pursuance of any Act of Parliament.​
  • the effect of tourism on the semi-rural nature of the Bingie area.
  • To act as a lobbyist on behalf of members in relation to any actual or proposed act, matter or thing relating to or affecting (or possibly relating to or affecting) the Bingie area in any way.
  • To liaise with and support local Landcare Groups and encourage such groups in their activities. And to undertake environmental projects as deemed appropriate by the members. ​

Bingie area means the geographic location commonly known as "Bingie" being that part of the Shire of Eurobodalla which is bounded on the west by the Princes Highway commencing at Coila Creek and ending at the intersection of such highway with the Bingie Road, on the north and east first by the Bingie Road to its intersection with the northern boundary of the Meringo Lagoon catchment area then again on the north by that northern boundary to the Pacific Ocean and then again on the east by the Pacific Ocean to the entrance to Coila Lake and on the south first by that part of the shore of Coila Lake which commences on the northern side of such entrance and ends at the point on that shore where it intersects with the northern bank of Coila Creek and thence by the northern bank of such creek to the Princes Highway and the point of commencement. 
Bingie resident means a person who resides in, owns land in, or has the use or occupation of whatever nature (and whether such use or occupation is legally enforceable or merely de facto) of land or any part thereof or any improvements thereon in the Bingie Area.

1. Fill out the membership form and forward either by email to the Treasurer at [email protected] or to the PO Box on the form 
2. If you pay by EFT include identifying information in the 'payee reference' online, and also email or post the form as above. 
​Membership fees help cover the cost of events, pay our public liability insurance and admin costs.
