Fancy some help with challenges you may face if you want to keep your cat indoors?

Dr Heather Crawford, leading cat behaviouralist, is travelling from WA to explain to our community the intricacies of cat behaviour, enrichment, how to make a 'Catio' and how to keep your cat safe, as well as thoroughly happy, within the home.

Cats kept indoors or contained to an owners' property live on average 10 years longer than cats that roam, so come and find out the how and why!

This fantastic series of workshops is designed for residents with pet cats, or people interested in domestic cat behaviour.
These workshops are being run by ESC and Landcare.

* Meet at Bingie Point car park at 10.00am
* Track can be narrow and uneven with tree roots and goes across rocks, unsuitable for those with walking difficulties
* Trip takes 2-3 hours
* Wear suitable walking shoes/boots.

Learn what makes a good nestbox + how to create and install your own!
Come along and find out about nestboxes, and about good nestbox construction (including how to avoid common mistakes) so that you can make and install your own.
This presentation and demonstration marks the beginning of a 3-year citizen science nestbox project at Meringo Point Sanctuary.
Birdlife Australia and the Biodiversity Conservation Trust have provided nestboxes and funding to install and monitor 60 different boxes across the 40 acres of the Sanctuary.

Huon Marchmont Hassall
1934 - 2026

It is with sadness and gratitude for a life well lived, that we announce the passing of Huon Marchmont Hassall OAM, aged 91. Born in Buxton, Australia, Huon lived a remarkable and resilient life marked by independence, determination, and a love of family, friends, and community.
He was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM), reflecting his pioneering, and lifetime of service to Agricultural Consulting.
He experienced the greatest joy (and profound loss) with his wives, Lorraine and Fran. He was the much-loved father of Roland, Ruth, and Justin, brother of Justin and Geraldine, father-in-law of Desiree and Lucie, and a proud grandfather to Gemma, Maddie, Annie, and Ed.
His family will remember his individuality, his sense of purpose, his achievements, and the enduring example of a life lived on his own terms. He passed at Bingie, in the company of his children, Ruth and Justin, as he wished.
Huon will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends, and all who knew him. A colourful character, a dedicated agriculturalist, and a man who never stopped being himself.
Please join us in remembering Huon

The Hotspots Fire Project is a training program which provides landholders, and land managers, with the skills and knowledge needed to actively, and collectively, participate in fire management planning and implementation for the enhancement of biodiversity conservation.
The workshops are principally aimed at landholder properties with areas of native vegetation and where landholders have an interest in enhancing biodiversity values on their properties. Although focussed in the Bingie, Meringo, Bergalia and Congo areas, applicants outside these areas may also be considered if there is space.

It's a chance to connect, catch up on what's happening, meet someone new, and enjoy being part of the local community.
Each Mingle will pop up on a different headland, with the first one kicking things off on:
